Sexual dysfunction therapy. Physician referral source.

As a Marriage & Family Therapist and Clinical Member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT), I have a long history of working with couples. I have trained as a Sexual Dysfunction Therapist with Domeena Renshaw, M.D., Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the Loyola University Medical Center’s Sexual Dysfunction Clinic.

Sexual dysfunction includes: premature ejaculation, vaginismus, impotence, anorgasmia, dispareunia, hypo-active sex drive.

On referral from a Gynecologist, Urologist or Family Physician that has ruled out physical causes, my approach to addressing sexual dysfunction is to:

  • Obtain an explicit sexual and family history
  • Obtain the couples overall and sexual history
  • Determine the contexts when sexual problems arise
  • Give educational suggestions
  • Conduct a follow-up session at a later date

Are you at a loss for a well-qualified referral source for your patients? I’m a Marriage & Family Therapist. My advanced training in Sexual Dysfunction was obtained at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago.
